A Message from Our Co-Chairs regarding COVID-19

Dear Friends,

We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy. It’s been months since we began social distancing here in Maine and Gov. Mills continues to extend and readjust necessary public safety regulations as the COVID-19 virus spreads.  Keep the faith and don’t stop now.

In this precarious political moment, UUs are being called to join forces with all people who want to organize our communities and our state to #VoteLove and #DefeatHate.

MUUSAN is moving to a virtual organizing platform to support our Maine UU Congregations as we tackle the critical community voter education, outreach and registration actions that are possible during and through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the umbrella of UUtheVote, MUUSAN is ready to identify and leverage the resources, opportunities, and needs that the current electoral cycle offers us to fight for our values, counter voter suppression, expand democracy, and engage in spiritually grounded, values-based issue conversations with other voters in our own communities.

We are all stronger together than apart.  Be well. Stay Safe. Take Good Care.

Yours in CommUUnity,

Trudy Ferland and Julia Fitz-Randolph
